6N - 20cm BGV high precision load bearing BGV clay blocks with thin joints.

The use of St. Astier bedding, rendering and plastering mortars is recommended in conjunction with clay masonry units

Preparing the bed for the 1st course with a HOURDEX mortar
(minimum 2cm)

Positioning a column block over the reinforcing rods in the slab and checking the level of the course.

Spreading mortar on the blocks
with the 20cm mortar roller
BGV blocks can be cut with an axe or with an alligator saw.

Layering the 2nd Course

Lintel Blocks.
The lintel depth can be increased by removing one or more internal layers.

Intersecting load bearing wall

A possible beam and block floor construction using Level Blocks on the BGV course, Edge Blocks towards the exterior. The internal cavity will contain insulation.

In a concrete floor construction the slab is placed over lintel blocks. A 5cm insulation is placed between the Edge block and the edge of the concrete slab.
