Chases:

Normally applied in internal walls. If necessary, can be applied in external walls.

Wherever necessary chases can be cut and the block positioned as construction progresses. After placing cables, tubes etc. always fill the remaining space with insulation.

Chases can be also cut on a completed wall with the aid of a disc cutter.

Doors, Windows and Lintels

Multipurpose blocks are used at the edges as they have a straight surface (no male-female ridges).

Lintel blocks are held in position by supports until the concrete is poured and cured.

Lintel blocks have a standard depth of 10cm.

By detaching with an axe 1 or 2 layers, depths of 15cm and 17cm respectively are obtained.

The standard width of the opening is 17.5cm.

Intersecting walls
20cm partition walls.

To position an intersecting 20cm wall, cut into the main wall with a disc cutter an opening 21cm wide by 7cm deep.

The 20cm block (BGV) is inserted by 3 to 4 cm. The space behind is filled with HOURDEX mortar.

The subsequent courses of 20cm blocks will be build following the same procedure.

Each course is bedded on the same thin joint mortar as per 'BioBric' using a smaller mortar roller available from Bouyer Leroux stockists.
